President Jacob Zuma will officially launch the N2 Gateway Housing Project in Cape Town South Africa on Thursday, 15 October 2015.

The project, which was established by government in 2004 and funded by all nine provinces, involves the development of fully subsidised rental and affordable bonded homes in sustainable settlements along the N2 highway in the Western Cape.

The Housing Development Agency (HDA) was appointed as the implementing agent for this mega housing project. The HDA is working closely with the City of Cape Town and the Western Cape Provincial Government to deliver 15 000 homes in the following five precincts:

  • New Rest
  • Delft 7-9 and Delft Symphony,
  • Boystown
  • Joe Slovo

The president is expected to hand over more houses to some of the beneficiaries.
