The Council for the Built Environment (CBE) is calling on all unemployed built environment professionals

The Council for the Built Environment (CBE) is calling on all unemployed built environment professionals, registered or not, to submit their details and credentials to help create a detailed map of the skills pool within the country.

The council as the regulatory authority of the six Built Environment Professions (BEPs) has among others, the responsibility of advising government on human resource issues in the South African BEPS.

Unemployed professionals from the architecture, landscape architecture, quantity surveying, engineering, project and construction management and property valuation sectors are urged to submit the following information to the CBE:

  1. Full name and surname
  2. Nationality
  3. Place of residence
  4. Latest place, position and duration of formal employment
  5. Current period of unemployment
  6. List of qualifications and dates obtained
  7. Summary of professional experience gained

According to the CBE this information will provide a valuable source of data when planning for example, interventions aimed at unemployment and capacity development within the BEPs.
